How good are your prints?
They’re superb! We print each poster using archival-quality Epson UltraChrome inks on Moab Lasal Matte, a beautiful, brilliant white, 230gsm (11 mil) alpha cellulose paper which is both acid- and lignin-free. These prints are made to last! I have one of my Interstate Highways as a Subway Map prints framed in my studio and it hasn’t faded at all after more than six years on the wall. Do you do custom sizes or bulk orders?
Contact me at orders@transitmap.net and we’ll see if we can work something out! Discounts apply for orders of ten or more of the same print.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Every order is lovingly printed and packaged on-demand in the order that they are received. Occasionally, this means that orders can get backed up a bit when demand is high. We endeavour to get orders on their way within a week of being received, but it can sometimes take a bit longer. The wait is worth it!
If you have a required date that you absolutely need your order by – a birthday or similar – please add a note to your order, or email me at orders@transitmap.net and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Similarly, please email me if you’re wondering about the status of your order. You should get an email with a USPS Priority Mail tracking number when your order has shipped.
How are the prints packaged?
All prints are individually inspected for quality, and then wrapped in pH-neutral paper and rolled into sturdy chipboard mailing tubes. If you’ve ordered multiple prints, we can normally fit up to three or four prints into one tube to save on shipping costs. It is recommended that you remove the prints from the tube as soon as possible after receiving your order to prevent the paper from curling too much.
I made a mistake in my order. What can I do?
It happens to the best of us! If you notice a mistake of any kind in your order confirmation email, please contact me at orders@transitmap.net with details and we’ll work with you to set it right. Address changes can be handled easily with our ordering system in minutes, other errors can be corrected on a case-by-case basis.
Do you accept returns?
All sales are final and no returns are accepted. If a print is damaged in transit (see below), we will replace it free of charge upon proof of damage.
What if my order arrives damaged?
We do our best to make sure everything arrives safe and sound. However, sometimes things happen in transit, and we will always try to make things right for you. Simply send me an email at orders@transitmap.net with a picture of the damage, and we’ll reship your order at no additional cost. No need to return the damaged prints!
What about orders from overseas?
Sadly, offering prints outside of the United States and Canada has become both financially unviable and logistically challenging. New UK and EU regulations require me to remit VAT via a third-party company for every print sold, and shipping prices for the long tubes that I use have become prohibitively expensive – they cannot be sent by standard mail because of their dimensions, so have to be shipped using Priority Mail International, which is very, very expensive at the moment. As of March 2023, overseas sales on “Transit Maps” will be blocked, but I do hope to get some of my more popular prints up on a print-on-demand site that can drop ship internationally far more economically than I can.
