A handsome map of a proposed national highway network produced by the National Highways Association in 1913. Apart from my usual restoration work, I’ve also done some colour work to enhance the contrast between the yellow lettering and linework used on the map and the background paper. Note the completely different numbering system as compared to the eventual 1926 adoption of the U.S. Numbered Highways scheme.
Available as a 22″ by 20″ poster, with a 1″ white border on all sides (24″ by 22″ sheet).
Each poster is printed on-demand using fully archival, UltraChrome inks on Moab Lasal Matte, a beautiful, brilliant white, 230gsm (11 mil) alpha cellulose paper which is acid- and lignin-free. Each print is carefully inspected, wrapped in pH-neutral paper, then rolled and placed in a sturdy chipboard tube for shipping.
