An incredible isochrone map of Melbourne, Australia’s tram and train network in 1926. Examination of the map reveals that the time contours were first drawn in pencil on top of a base map, then inked and finally, hand tinted with watercolours. Restoration of this map was performed with great care to remove age marks and discolouration while still preserving the original draughtsman’s line work: note the line to the south east that’s been added by hand after the base map was completed.
Available as a 24″ wide by 22″ high poster, with a 1″ white border on all sides.
Each poster is printed on-demand using fully archival, UltraChrome inks on Moab Lasal Matte, a beautiful, brilliant white, 230gsm (11 mil) alpha cellulose paper which is acid- and lignin-free. Each print is carefully inspected, wrapped in pH-neutral paper, then rolled and placed in a sturdy chipboard tube for shipping.
